The Joist Design Management System has been developed to provide analytical stress analysis and design calculations for open web steel joists, joist girders, bowstring joists, 'A' frame joists and special steel trusses. The system uses a series of data entry forms as a means to enter the design parameters to be considered. These data entry forms are used for the entry of basic information, special loads, special panel configuration and/or special panel depths (such as would be used in the case of a bowstring joist). It also has a simple drawing to assist in the entry of the required webbing profile. The resulting design calculations will be stored on a secure JDMS server and a link to the file will be sent to you via email within minutes of the data submittal. The design calculations will be based on Allowable Stress Design (ASD) per AISC / SJI specifications and will use standard AISC Angles for Top and Bottom Chords and single or double angles for all Web members and can be downloaded to your personal computer for printing or permanent storage. A personalized angle file can be registered for major users.
